Hey ladies! I just wanted to bless you with some words of encouragement from my girl Tyra Jackson of Street Therapy this morning.  She sharpens me daily and I just wanted to share a little of her with the rest of you. What is your vision?

If God be for you who can stand against you? It takes a lot courage to win the fight of success. Through sweat, tears, setbacks and disappointments the goal is to keep pushing forward until you finish the race. What is life without a vision? If you have no vision, no purpose, without any direction how can you have peace and happiness? Make a decision today to discover what it is that you really want out of life, make a list and look at it every day. Turn deaf ears to critics, haters and people who discourage your dreams and dare to be unique because you were created to stand out. Be careful that you do not allow your experiences in life to limit your potential. We are co-creators with God therefore we are limitless……..

Peace Be Still

If you haven’t learned by now how much having and maintaining peace in your life is important then you may want to take some time to pay attention to how you are responding to certain situations and people. We all know how stress can affect the heart, body and it can also break down your immune system so most of the time if not all the time choose your battles wisely. Be mindful of what you allow to invade your mental space that you do not take it to heart. From experience it’s not what people say to you that matters, it’s what you believe to be true that counts. So choose to believe in what’s going to create more peace in your life instead of chaos. Where there is no peace there is not power! Work hard at not allowing people to control whether you are going to be happy, mad or sad. Why give power to people who don’t matter so they can experience joy while you experience pain.

They say the Bible stands for Basic –Instruction- Before- Leaving –Earth and from experience the bible has taught me humility, faith and endurance.   When I started to read the word for myself, I realized I had to divorce what I had been taught because God’s love is fulfilling, healing, rewarding and liberating. When you get close to God, you have fellowship, acceptance and mercy that endures forever, when you have faith, it doesn’t mean we don’t have trouble, it just means that regardless of what you go through, God will make a way …” Somehow”

Superbowl Chillin.

Hey yall! Hope you had a great weekend and Superbowl Sunday! Though I have minimal knowledge of sports…I did enjoy the food, drinks and lively atmosphere! Oh yeah and the Beyonce half time show lol. I swear her wigs be LAIDDDDD honey! Anyhoo, I went and functioned at my friend’s house where she served up New Orleans style cuisine…complete with Gumbo and Shrimp Po Boys. BOMB…ya understand? lol. I kept it casual and wore some army green skinny jeans that I picked up at the Goodwill for $2 and a Tie-Dye scarf that I thrifted for $3. I finished the look off with a thin flowy cardigan and my favorite most comfy nude heels. I really enjoyed catching up with my friends, cracking jokes, and just genuinely having a good time. So…what did yall do Superbowl Sunday and what did yall think of the much anticipated Beyonce performance?

Hey ladies! Hope everything is fine and well with you. The past couple of weeks have been SO hectic for me. And part of the craziness was my little brother getting married in like one week! So my family and I had to throw together the FASTEST wedding and bachelorette party in the world! Lol It was tight...but I’m happy to announce everything came together perfectly. For a night on the town and a little “entertainment” J I wore this knitted top that I found at the thrift store for like two dollars! It fell off the shoulders...which gave it a little sass and sexiness.  I paired it with a amber colored tube top and white skinny jeans that I found at Rainbow. I had been looking for some  white skinny jeans forever… so when I saw these for $18, I jumped on it IMMEDIATELY! Lol. I finished the look off with nude heels, simple gold hoops and a gold and leopard watch. For my face I kept my eyes fairly simple with a pink pout. Overall, I liked how it all came together. I felt comfy and sexy at the same time, which is the BEST combo in the world to me! Lol.

So, as you can tell between this post and my Movie Night post I am totally loving this color combo…lol. I even incorporated some leopard this time too…but with my heels instead. The goal this night was to be comfy, but still look put together. Not too dressy…just polished. I wore this outfit for a night on the town with my girls to celebrate my friend Tyra’s birthday. We hit up Café Entourage in Hollywood, which ended up being so fun. A little crowded, but I loved the atmosphere and the crowd…definitely would go back again. So…do you have any repeat color combos? Or repeat offender items? lol

Ok…so this night I decided to be bold and dare to show a little skin. Usually I would NEVER wear a tube top without something FULLY covering me up…but this night I said what the heck. I decided in 2013 I need to spend more time embracing who I am right now, while striving to be better. So, yep I wore a tube top in the winter just because lol. In the new year ladies…I dare you to step out of your fashion comfort zone and try things you wouldn’t normally. And don’t just try it, be CONFIDENT wearing it. And if you’re comfortable in any and everything…well you better WERK honey!!!

Hey boo's! Ok, so this top is one of those thrifted items that I wonder who wore it and where? I love the retro vibe it gives, bright colors and comfortable fit. I decided to let it be the focal point of my outfit and paired it with all black and nude heels. I wore this out to celebrate a friends birthday and it worked out perfect! Do you have a retro or vintage piece that your glad you found?
