the hamptons with catherines

Did I ever think in a million years that I would be going to the Hamptons this summer?! No friggin' way! When my friends at Catherines reached out to me with an opportunity to see the vacation spot to the stars, mansions out of this world and dabble in a little fashion, while I was at it, you know I was on the first plane smoking right??

From the very first day, we were laughing non-stop! My boo's Meaghan from Little Lime Dress and Sarah from Curvily were the absolute sweetest and funnest people to be around! We whipped out the games, cranked out the jokes and ate some ah-mazing food. Ahhhh..the food. Oh-em-ghee when I tell you that we had thee best BBQ ever! I am not joking! I didn't know the Hamptons could throw down like that lol. Fried mac n' cheese and everything!

After eating we went straight to pool. We couldn't help it. It was calling us. Fun floaties and super cute bathing suits? How could we resist? My bathing suit was black and white with a beautiful floral print that added a little depth and contrast. I paired it with a crochet-trimmed cover up that you could tie in the front or keep open to showcase your full look. I loved the way it looked, fit and it was also ultra comfy! #Winning

On day two I got my Titanic on! lol Well kinda. We went fishing! For me, this was an absolute first. I had never been fishing before, let alone what I would consider deep-sea fishing. We were treated like movie stars aboard a private yacht with private fishing lessons and pictures snapping left and right. So Hamptons darling!

Even though we didn't know that we were going fishing until right before, the look that I put together went perfect for the day. A lightweight white top and super comfy jeans made for a classic nautical look fit for a Hampton-aire!

And what's a night out without a little black dress? I put a spin on the typical LBD with a form fitting top with sleek cut-out detailing and a figure flattering wrap skirt for the perfect alternative!

As we strolled downtown Hamptons on our last day, I strutted my stuff in Catherines Curvy Collection "Hourglass" dress. And it definitely lived up to its name! It hugs your curves just right and is SUPER flattering. I'll let you in on a little secret...I wore absolutely no shape wear with this dress and it STILL had my curves fleeky! So, listen when I tell you that this dress is a must-have!

To say I had fun, would be an absolute understatement. The people, the clothes, the environment, the food - I mean, everything was perfect! Truly. Honestly. I could not have had a better time and feel so blessed to have had this experience to share with you! Thanks Catherines!

What's summer without a good maxi dress? They are stylish, super comfy and practically effortless. I kept this look simple and allowed the dress to be the focal point by adding minimal jewelry and a bucket bag to finish off the look!

Tip: You could give this dress some boho flair by adding a gorgeous flower crown, printed hair scarf or a flowy kimono. The options are limitless!

Who doesn't love a good midi dress? God bless whoever created them! The length is absolute-ly perfect and nine times out of 10 so is the fit!

Today's look is all about beautiful baby blues, flattering ruched detailing and a splash of leopard for a little edge! You know we gotta throw the leopard in lol (hehe) :)

I finished off the look with a fun top knot, to try something different, and tied up a jean chambray top to create a cropped look! Tip: this dress is spaghetti strapped - I know that some plus women are not comfortable with showing their arms, if this is the case with you...tie a button-up top to create a cropped effect! And that is all! Summer here we come! And we cute! :)

heat wave

7.09.2017

Hey loves! Long time no talk to! I know. I'm horrible. But, I feel like people just want to know the outfit details, for the most part, so I stopped writing. But, I have to remember that some people actually do enjoy my writing and it's a way for us to connect and vibe together! I know you have heard this before, but I will do better!

So, it's a zillion degrees in Cali. Especially in my area. Some of you may not know but I moved about an hour outside of the LA area, to a more mountain/desert location. I absolutely, love how quiet, peaceful and non-congested it is here. It has really allowed me to focus more and feel more at peace. And if I want to go to the glam, lights, fast-paced life of LA I am only an hour away.

But with the desert life comes the desert heat! For the past two days it's been between 105 and 106 degrees. Yeah, quite ridiculous. Which could really be a pain when shooting looks. Yeah, being hot and sweaty? Not cute. A lot of times, I feel the less clothes the better! lol So, of course I had to pull out the cut-off's and lightweight tops. Because ain't nobody got time for that!

I also really want to get more into being a tourist in my own area and even in LA, there are a lot of places I still have not seen yet. So, to beat the heat. I decided to visit Castle Park. It's a small amusement park in Riverside county that has a water park in the summer, rides, arcade games and miniature golf. It is super reasonable ($24.99) for season passes and is the perfect size to me. I hate walking around amusement parks for hours and hours in the heat. Thee worse.

So on this day, I bought season passes for the family and we went and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We visited Buccaneer Cove, which is the water area of the park and played some golf. The water area is small (think kiddie land at soak city with a few extra slides), with no pool unfortunately, but it definitely does the job!

What is the weather like in your area? And what are you doing to beat the heat? I need to know! lol

Tiff
