Sexy Staple.

3.15.2015

Dress: PinkClubWear | Skirt: Babe & Felines | Flannel: Thrifted | Purse: Aldo | Heels: Go Jane | Hair: Lolashair.com

A good bodycon skirt should be a staple in every woman's closet. It add's instant sexy to literally any ensemble. Remember my Royal Hue Post? Well, I put my Babes and Felines skirt on top of my dress to create a two-piece look.

Tie a flannel around your waist to separate the pieces even further and to create a more casual look. The flannel could also serve as a camouflage for problem areas.

Sweater & Skinny's | Fashion Avenue Plus | Flannel: Thrifted | Boots: Shiek

Whether you wear them buttoned, unbuttoned on top of your favorite tee, or wrapped around your waist, flannel shirts are pretty much EVERYTHING right now, and actually, have been for decades. In the 90’s, flannels were typically part of the grungy-casual outfit, often paired with chucks, old tees, thermal shirts, and distressed jeans. And while these pairings still hold true today, we’re also seeing flannels paired with polished staples like skinny jeans and heels, and fitted skirts…adding a casual touch to an otherwise dressier outfit.

I love pairing black white and red together. So, for this look I wore my black and white LOVE sweater with white skinny jeans. I finished off the look with my absolute favorite flannel that I got from the thrift store for $2, and some peep-toe booties. This look was everything I wanted it to be…young, chic and edgy. The flannel trend is something that I surely won’t be getting tired of any time soon. Definitely a trend to, at least, try! So, my question to you is…have you flannel-ed lately? ;)

Concert Flow

11.10.2014

Tank: DD's | Jeans: @FashionAvenuePlus | Flannel: Thrifted | Chucks: WSS | Watch: MK
You ever feel like you have no idea what to wear to a concert? I know I did! You want to be cute…but not overdressed and, most importantly, you also want to be comfortable. No one wants to be stuck at a 2 hour concert with their feet hurting or wearing something that is too tight. I made that mistake one time. I went to a rap concert in a full bodycon dress and heels. Worst mistake ever! Plus the concert was standing room only! I felt extremely over dressed and just outright uncomfortable.

So, this time around I learned from my past mistakes and kept things cute and casual. This night, I was going to see B.O.B and Kevin Gates at Club Nokia. It was standing room only. It’s sort of like a club environment. So, I decided to wear a simple black tank with distressed jeans. I made the look more trendy and edgy by adding a waist wrapped flannel and chucks.

I loved the way the look came together and, more importantly, I could dance all night!

$2 Steal.

9.18.2014

I love a good flannel top and would probably have more of them than a lumberjack in the fall, if I could just find them! I know that flannels are on trend, but honestly it’s been difficult for me to find ones that work for me and that are in my size. So, you could only imagine how happy I was when I found this PERFECT one in MY size at the thrift store for only $2 ladies!! I literally could have did a cartwheel in the store lol.

This night, I was attending a house party so I decided to keep things simple in all back. I opted for a loose fitting black tank and paired it with black leggings w/leather detailing. I finished off the look with a pair of chucks and my thrifted flannel tied around my waist. I love the way the look came together and how the flannel just made everything feel effortless and carefree.

Tip: Flannels are so versatile and easy to wear. They give a trendy & edgy feel to any look. You can take them from day to night by changing just a few key pieces.
Day: wrap your flannel around a tank dress or a cute pair of distressed shorts or jeans.
Night: wrap around a nice pair of leggings, with a tank, heels and leather moto jacket. Or wear it traditionally, tucked into a skater or pleated skirt – for a feminine flare.

Cali Love

3.10.2014

Sweater & Skinnies: @fashionaveplus | Purse & Flannel: Thrifted | Chucks: WSS

I visited New Orleans last week for Mardi Gras and you know I had to represent for my area! I wore this outfit to the #Nomtoc parade. I decided to wear a Cali sweater with my dark blue skinnies, a red flannel wrapped around my waist and some classic chucks for all the walking we were doing. But back to the flannel! Yall have no idea how happy I was to find this! I had been looking everywhere for one this size and color and found it at that thrift store for TWO dollars! Made my day!

Much love,
Tiff
