What can I say? New York Fashion Week was, hands down, the best fashion experience that I have had thus far! Over-the-top street style, stylish celebrities and trend-setters from all over the world - is just the beginning. The beautiful fashion shows and after-parties were a completely different story lol. I had the awesome privilege of attending the Kyboe fashion show. Off the chain!

Kyboe is a luxury watch brand that carry one-of-a-kind pieces and that truly party like rock stars! The show was very non-traditional. Even though it was indeed a fashion show, the main focus were these beautifully crafted high-end watches. The center of the show was a conveyor belt displaying all the watches, in motion, while the models strutted alongside them. It was definitely an experience.

For the show, I decided to wear this beautiful burnt orange cape dress from GCGme. The dress featured gorgeous draping over the shoulder and a asymmetrical front hem. It comes with a matching leather belt, but I decided to let the dress take full focus. I finished up the look with nude and snakeskin heels, a fur bag, chunky gold accessories, my Kyboe watch and some stunna shades. Yes, I went all out!And with flashing lights everywhere I totally felt like a superstar in my own right ;)

Seriously, you can't go wrong with a good pair of destroyed denim. Some brands get it and other have you walking around with more holes than jeans...like ummm no. I want "destroyed" not "demolished" lol. The jeans that I am wearing in this look are from GS Love. They are perfect with a loose fitting top or even paired with a structured peplum top, as I did here. Since, I'm still hanging on to the last days of summer, I decided to pair my outfit with pink accessories for a summer flare. But, as we are approaching Fall, you can always accessorize your look with beautiful nude tones, black or even an olive green.

Whatever you choose, you will be sure to love it!

Can't Touch This

When I think about wearing all white, the first thing that I honestly think is hell-to-the-naw lol. I love it but I am not the best at wearing it. I truly do not understand how people like Lisa Raye can wear white majority of the time?? Well, at any rate...I was in the mood to wear white in this look and I absolutely love the way it came out! Now, keeping it clean is another story lol.

Fashion Nova sent me these jeans to try out from their new curve line and I love them. They feature a slim slit at the knee and are a really soft stretch material. Even though they stretch, they definitely still feel like jeans. Their sizing runs a little small, so I would suggest sizing up, if you have a bigger bottom portion, if possible. I wear a 3X and that is the biggest size they carry, so I just had to make it work. The jeans were a little tight, but the stretch material really helped and made them comfortable.

Fashion Nova already had some very cute clothing for their straight size line and that has extended to the curve line. I will definitely be trying out more items soon. If you want to try them out yourself, use code "lacenleopard" for a 15% discount. Every little bit helps! I hope that you like this look and if you have any tips on how you keep your white, white lol...please do share! ;)

When you think about it, there is definitely an art to fashion. A science, a delicate balance, a play on colors, fabrics, textures - you name it. Everything can work together in unison or work against you. Everyone's style is different. That's why it is best to have fun with it, experiment and find what works best for YOU. Today's look is all about a beautiful color and an awesome print.

When I saw this dress from GS Love I instantly knew that I wanted it. I am a fan of the coral family and the color on this piece is ah-mazing. Not too orangey, not too peachy. Perfect. It also features a unique brush stroke print that is refreshing to see among other "traditional" plus size prints. It looks modern, trendy and fun.Which is what us plus size women are all about! The dress features a mid-thigh slit and an off-shoulder cut for an instant touch of sex appeal. To complete the look, I added a faux snakeskin clutch, nude heels and simple gold accessories. I love the way this look came together and if you love a great maxi dress <<< (me me me!) and love to play with different prints and colors...this is definitely the look for you!

Tip: Allow this statement dress to take the focus and keep your accessories minimal or in solid colors for a polished and chic look.

Bohemian Flare

8.28.2016

Top: Thrifted | Flare Jeans Size 3X | Bag
I wish that I could find some of my high school pictures with me rocking my favorite bell bottoms of all times. I mean, I wore those things out! With my platform Soda tennis shoes, of course ;) These flare jeans from Love Lianca have definitely took the spot in my heart for my favorite. They are made so well, are the perfect length and fit me like a glove.

According to the Trend Spotter, "First introduced to fashion in the 70's, flares had another major moment in the late 90's, and are now back again in 2016.

Come back for real! And I love it. I decided to pair mine with an oversized button-up top that I thrifted a while back and it went together perfectly. I tied the top in the front for a fun cropped look and to fit my personal style better. I finished everything off with round retro shades, gold hoop earrings and a shoulder bag in a complimenting color.

Whether you decide to take a Boho approach, like I did, or a more modern take...you are for sure to turn heads!

Hello loves! Here is a little mid-week inspiration for you all! Fall is quickly approaching us and I wanted to show you a light and fun outfit that will transition perfectly into the fall and still work for the final days of summer. Nude is one of my favorite colors and it just goes so great with a good pair of jeans. I played up my look with a hint of snakeskin with my heels and clutch. I hope you enjoyed  this look and happy hump day! It's almost Friday ;)

African Style

8.21.2016

Top: Size 3X | Jeans: Size 22 | Heels: Size 10 | Bag
The Dashiki trend is one that simply can't be ignored. Celebrities from Chris Brown to Beyonce are rocking them, from everyday people all across my Instagram feed. I definitely, want to get an authentic dashiki but in the meantime I decided to try out the trend with a less expensive option from Rainbow.

This dashiki Manhattan print tunic is $14.99 and comes in a beautiful red coral color as well as yellow. It's polyester and spandex, so it completely different from your typical dashiki material, but the awesome print still rings true. I decided to pair the tunic with white jeans and yellow laced-up heels for a fun and bright look. And I love the way it came together! Tip: Let your dashiki take the focal point by wearing all solid colors with the rest of your ensemble...and you will be ready to slay!

Ps. I named this blog post African style because the dashiki originates out of West Africa, but also because my mother says "African style" almost every other day for one reason or another and I think it's hilarious! Love you mom ;)
