Heatwave Uniform

8.19.2015

Tank: DD's | Shorts: DIY (Thrifted Jeans) | Bag: Aldo | Flats: Previously owned | Shades: Ebay

I don’t know what’s going on in California but it feels like summer just officially started this past week! It had been in the mid 90’s or high 80’s all weekend.

I’m not a person who is here for the heat…So, I had to pull out the short shorts and tank tops. It’s like my heat wave uniform. I got a few stares, but was like what?? Don’t act like you never seen thunda thighs before! ;)

Much love,

Curvy Beach Meetup

8.07.2015

It’s one thing to be social media friends, but it’s another thing to meet up close and personal! I am so excited to announce my very FIRST meet up with fellow LA bloggers @IvoryJinelle and @CurvesandChaos going down this weekend! If you are in the LA area, I would love to meet you!  So, come and join us for a day of fun in the sun, at one of LA's most popular beaches. This will be a super laid back and  relaxed event, so feel free to bring your beach gear and a body positive friend or two. Hope to see you there! #curvybeachmeetup

Directions: Take the Santa Monica Freeway 10West until it turns into PCH. Head North on PCH and park in parking lot #7. You will find a cafe and beach rentals at this location. Walk straight onto the beach and you will us near the shore. If the lot is full, parking lot #6 is close as well.

Much love,
Tiff

Fit & Flow

8.05.2015

Today’s post is all about paisley prints & handkerchief hems! I am absolutely in love with the fit and flow of this dress. I’m all for a good bodycon, occasionally, but sometimes you want to just relax and not whip out the shapewear and girdles. This dress, from Rainbow, is perfect for those kind of days –brunch with the girlfriends or a casual dinner date.

Since this piece is full of prints and color, I decided to keep my accessories relatively simple and focus on the trace amounts of black in it.

I complimented the dress with a black fringe shoulder bag, from forever 21, and my go-to strappy heels.

I finished off the look with a little edge and added bold blue lips and blue-mirrored aviators.

Loved this look. Great fitting and under $20 bucks? I call that a win win!

Boho Chic

7.26.2015

The bohemian chic vibe is definitely on trend this summer and I'm loving it. Carefree and flowy fabrics are not only cute, but a must in this hot Cali weather just to keep cool.

So, when I saw this dress from Rainbow, I knew that I had to have it. For under $15 this dress is a definitely a winner. The ruffle detailing at the top is super flirty and feminine and the fit is worry-free and non-restricting.

I wore this to my friend's "Glamchella" themed party this weekend, and it was perfect! I paired it with simple gold jewelry and my favorite fringe shoulder bag for some extra boho flair.

Dress | Purse and Flats: Gifted | Necklace

If you are thinking of trying a bohemian look yourself, think neutrals, fringe, knits, cut off shorts, funky prints, round sunglasses, flowy fabrics and florals. Try it out, you won't be disappointed!

Much love,
Tiff

Serving Chocolate

7.22.2015

I hear far too often women being downed because they are not small enough, cute enough, shapely enough and yes (still) light enough. It’s sad, but in 2015, colorism definitely still exists. Skin color is also a topic that floats around the blogger community as well, specifically, the topic of darker bloggers not getting as many opportunities or the same quality opportunities and recognition as some lighter skin bloggers. I promote self-love for EVERYONE.

But I felt the need to create something that will EMPOWER and UPLIFT my brown skin beauties, in a world where we are constantly bombarded with beauty images that look NOTHING like us. So, to ALL my chocolate baddies (plus size or not): tag your Instagram and Twitter pictures with #ServingChocolate to rep for all of us around the world and for a chance to be featured on Lace N Leopard! Spread the word! And tag a brown skin beauty who’s serving up chocolate realness!!

Much love,
Tiff @LaceNLeopard

Progress Over Perfection

7.15.2015

This weekend I had the privilege of attending the BLM Lunch Lab. BLM, which stands for Bloggers Like Me, is a community of women that are bloggers, business women, soloprenuers, girlfriends etc. The group members share ideas, throw events, and support each other all the way around. They even wrote a book together! I am proud to say that I am a member of BLM and the organization was founded by a very good friend of mine, the gorgeous Leslie Young.

This day, we had the pleasure of discussing some pretty juicy blog business with Social Media expert Natalie Gouche. This was truly a treat. Not only is this woman beautiful and down to earth, she is full of knowledge and fun! To say I had a great time and learned a ton would be an understatement.

I wanted to look professional and polished but not too stuffy. So, I decided to wear my favorite pair of jeans (that I never plan on letting go lol) and a loose fitting white top, that I tied in a side knot to create some shape and edge.

I finished off the look with a lightweight blazer with mesh sleeves and my go-to strappy heels. Finished product? Exactly what I was going for! Isn’t it lovely when that happens?

It’s always great to see friends doing awesome things and blossoming in life. Many congrats on a successful event my friend and thank you Natalie for all your nuggets of knowledge! One thing that I will always take with me from this workshop is “Progress over Perfection”. I needed to hear that! Thank you!

Much love,
