In light of Spring, I decided to dig deep and pull some color out of my closet. I love color but not too much on myself. So, I mostly pair bright colors with some type of nude, brown or black. I love this dress because of the floral/abstract print and because it's so versatile. You could wear it out for a casual lunch or layer it up for the office. Here is a little of my outfit of the day :)

So, I had the opportunity to meet the BEAUTIFUL Miss Monica over this past weekend. Both of us being super busy...we literally threw this shoot together. And being as though I did her makeup in the trunk of her car in a Jack in the Box parking lot, I must say that this was a very interesting shoot as well...lol. Nonetheless, the cool, calm and never trippin' Monica put her face on as soon  as the camera started flashing. The pictures came out just as we wanted and saying I had fun would be an understatement. We had more in common that I would ever imagine...and I look forward to future projects and even more, a blossoming friendship.

Top 10 World Most Famous Photos Ever

01. Afghan Girl [1984]

And of course the afghan girl, picture shot by National Geographic photographer Steve McCurry. Sharbat Gula was one of the students in an informal school within the refugee camp; McCurry, rarely given the opportunity to photograph Afghan women, seized the opportunity and captured her image. She was approximately 12 years old at the time. She made it on the cover of National Geographic next year, and her identity was discovered in 1992.


02. Omayra Sánchez [1985]

Omayra Sánchez was one of the 25,000 victims of the Nevado del Ruiz (Colombia) volcano which erupted on November 14, 1985. The 13-year old had been trapped in water and concrete for 3 days. The picture was taken shortly before she died and it caused controversy due to the photographer’s work and the Colombian government’s inaction in the midst of the tragedy, when it was published worldwide after the young girl’s death.


03. Portrait of Winston Churchill [1941]

This photograph was taken by Yousuf Karsh, a Canadian photographer, when Winston Churchill came to Ottawa. The portrait of Churchill brought Karsh international fame. It is claimed to be the most reproduced photographic portrait in history. It also appeared on the cover of Life magazine.

04. The plight of Kosovo refugees [1999]

The photo is part of The Washington Post’s Pulitzer Prize-winning entry (2000) showing how a Kosovar refugee Agim Shala, 2, is passed through a barbed wire fence into the hands of grandparents at a camp run by United Arab Emirates in Kukes, Albania. The members of the Shala family were reunited here after fleeing the conflict in Kosovo.


05. Stricken child crawling towards a food camp [1994]

The photo is the “Pulitzer Prize” winning photo taken in 1994 during the Sudan Famine.
The picture depicts stricken child crawling towards an United Nations food camp, located a kilometer away.
The vulture is waiting for the child to die so that it can eat him. This picture shocked the whole world. No one knows what happened to the child, including the photographer Kevin Carter who left the place as soon as the photograph was taken.
Three months later he committed suicide due to depression.

07. Burning Monk – The Self-Immolation [1963]

June 11, 1963, Thich Quang Duc, a Buddhist monk from Vietnam, burned himself to death at a busy intersection in downtown Saigon to bring attention to the repressive policies of the Catholic Diem regime that controlled the South Vietnamese government at the time. Buddhist monks asked the regime to lift its ban on flying the traditional Buddhist flag, to grant Buddhism the same rights as Catholicism, to stop detaining Buddhists and to give Buddhist monks and nuns the right to practice and spread their religion.
While burning Thich Quang Duc never moved a muscle.

08. Bliss [~2000]

Bliss is the name of a photograph of a landscape in Napa County, California, east of Sonoma Valley. It contains rolling green hills and a blue sky with stratocumulus and cirrus clouds. The image is used as the default computer wallpaper for the “Luna” theme in Windows XP.
The photograph was taken by the professional photographer Charles O’Rear, a resident of St. Helena in Napa County, for digital-design company HighTurn. O’Rear has also taken photographs of Napa Valley for the May 1979 National Geographic Magazine article Napa, Valley of the Vine.
O’Rear’s photograph inspired Windows XP’s US$ 200 million advertising campaign Yes you can.

09. The Triangle Shirtwaist Fire [1911]

Picture of bodies at the Triangle Shirtwaist Company. Company rules were to keep doors closed to the factory so workers (mostly immigrant women) couldn’t leave or steal. When a fire ignited, disaster struck. 146 people died that day.

Whole Fit From The Thrift

Here's another one! In spirit of St. Paddy Day...we had casual dress at the office and this is what I pulled out. This was actually a skirt I found at the thrift that I turned into a dress. Loved the bright colors and shapes so I had to grab it...it was perfect for spring, plus you cant beat the price. I got the jean vest from another thrift store, both close to my house. Here is a little of my look :)

What's Your Style? :: Magazine Tear Out

So...I'm currently flipping through People Stylewatch April issue and came across a cute little spring outfit (virtually the same) but rocked in totally different ways by Rachel Bilson and Naomi Watts. This just opened my eyes to all the possibilites of my own curvy closet...so I'm definitely going to start playing around a little more with what I have. I encourage you to do the same. In the future, I will start posting different ways to wear the same outfit. But as for this look...I know which look I prefer, but what about you ladies? Cool & Chic or Soft and Feminine? If niether, how would you rock it?

Makeup by Moi

I told you ladies that I was a photographer, but I also do hair, makeup and styling for a lot of my shoots. So sometimes I get request for just hair styling or makeup. So, like an hour before I was supposed to be ready for the Saddle Ranch my friend/client called me like "I just wanted to let you know that I will be on my way for hair and makeup". Yeah...I forgot O_o. So I pretended as though I remembered..lol and thought to myself, oh- em-gee how am I going to get her glammed up and get myself together also in like an hour and a half? I don't know how in the heck I managed..but I did! Unfortunately, I forgot to snap before pictures, but this is the finished look!

OOTN: Saddle Ranch

So me and my girlfriends promised each other that we would at least spend one day a month doing something fun together. We all work so much and get so busy with our own lives that it's hard to catch up as much as we would like. So, this weekend we made a date to go to the Saddle Ranch in Universal City for a birthday party, and guess what the theme was? LEOPARD!!!! Was this right up my alley or what? I decided to keep it low-key and opt for a black dress with leopard heels.I wasn't brave enough to ride the bull...but I definitely had a good time with my girls! Here is my look for the night :)
