Motivation.

8.13.2012

Yes, I’m a weirdo. I totally get motivated about healthy living and weight loss at the END of the summer (don’t judge me lol) -_- I don’t have a plan as of yet or any specific goals, besides knowing that I want to slim ‘some’ of these curves down…lol. For starters, I linked up with a few friends, and we have been emailing each other every morning with what we ate the previous day. I found that this is really helping me, because it is totally keeping me accountable for what I eat. Now, I’m not saying that my journal is all that great…but it’s a heck of a lot better than if no one else was watching what I was eating lol. Like, I’m totally embarrassed to say I ate 4 slices of pizza…so in result, I don’t do it. Also, when I see what other people are eating (yogurt, fruit, chicken, salad,) I feel horrible saying I had a double cheeseburger. And not saying that pizza or a cheeseburger is bad, but I feel it’s all about moderation. Because diet, diet, diet without any of the things you enjoy is a setup for failure (trust me, been there a few times). So anyhoo, the journal is really helping.. I recommend it for anyone that is trying to slim down as well. Now if I can start working out…I will definitely get this ball on the road!

I posted a video of Beautiful Brown Babydoll, a popular Youtuber that I love…who was successful at losing 100lbs, and has been successful at keeping it off. I love her story and the tips that she gives to encourage others. Check her out here. And, If you have any routines, tips, workouts, inspirations, before & afters, or plans that you would like to share…please do! I need all the motivation that I could get! J

Much love,

  1. I love her too....and you're not weird I always jump back on my health kick once the summer is over too. Prime example I finally made it to the gym this morning. Good luck with everything, the emailing should definitely work because you never want to be the one saying you ate fried chicken and baked mac and cheese when everyone else ate salads.

  3. OMG Tiff I'm trying to slim down some too my wedding is 7 months ago and I don't want to look huge on my wedding pics. I am using myfitnesspal on my Iphone as a daily journal of what I eat...not saying I eat great either but if I'm too shame to journal it it means I don't need it.

    1. You can do it girl! And you WILL look bomb in your pictures...visualize yourself and how you want to look. Another good fitness app is Diet Point. They have all kinds of food plans and forums. You can go on the regular computer as well at www.dietpointed.com. I'm thinking of starting back up with them, it was great support.

  8. you look so amazing! don't feel bad about indulging a little. We all do it. I know I do. My tips are to switch up your workouts (muscle confusion) I take spinning classes, run, jump rope and lift weights. When I have time I squeeze in a dance class or two. If you want to incinerate some fat, try a West African dance class.

  12. This post is a motiation to me as well. I've restarted one my MANY attempts to slim down some as you put it. I've always hated teh word "diet" so substituing it to "healthy eating" sounds way better. One thing I've started doing is preparing my meals/snacks for work over night cause I dont have much time in the mornings and bringing my own stuff cuts down on those trips to the vending machine and buying those $8 lunches. Keep up the good work!

    1. Yes girl! I swear I just tweeted that! All the money we spend on fast food is ridiculous! One week I ate from home all week and when I checked my bank account...I couldnt believe how much money I still had left for the week! It really does make a difference when you prepare your meals from home. I'm definitely going to try to stick to that as much as possible..as well.

  13. I like to take my workouts outdoors when summer is over (late Sept-Oct) b/c it's way too hot in Southern Cali to run outside (morning or night). During the summer months I work out late nights, with the AC on, at home. Try www.bodyrock.tv. I love them. The workouts are short, easy, and free. You push yourself as you see fit. I've been using their videos for a while now and others are seeing the results, "Wow you lost some weight" Keep up the good work.
