Hollywood Nights

This weekend I had an absolute blast with my friend's at Ashley Stewart! As you may already know I partnered with the brand on their extended sizes campaign and their #LoveYourCurvesTour and this weekend I helped celebrate an awesome story of resilience for a young breast cancer survivor-- Charity.

AS held a contest for a trip of a lifetime to Los Angeles to attend CBS Radio's #WeCanSurvive concert, at the Hollywood Bowl, featuring big names such as Bruno Mars, Ariana Grande, Meghan Trainor, Pitbull and G-Eazy to name a few! The show raised money for, and the awareness of, The Young Survival Coalition, which provides support for young women with breast cancer. Charity was the winner of the contest with over 400 submissions and even got the chance to go on stage and introduce "Me Myself and I" rapper G-Eazy!

The show was awesome! With my personal favorites being the talented Bruno Mars and Ariana Grande. They sounded even better than they do on the radio! Truly ah-mazing voices and performances. I had so much fun but it didn't end there...

Dress | Heels
Can we talk about love for a minute? Like true love. There are plenty things that you are going to like in this lifetime but few items that we truly love. This dress is it. The way it flows and fit is just ah-mazing and the color is the prettiest of sky blue's. I got this dress from Your Fashion Frenzy. The company primarily sells waist cincher's (which is my shapewear when I want to be snatched). So, for anyone who has asked me before about shapewear for my bodycon's this is the place! The company has also expanded their offerings by carrying apparel and that brings us to today!

I decided to let the dress be the focal point and not busy-up the look by adding too many prints. So, I kept it really simple and added a pair of nude heels and gold hoop earrings. I really love how the look came together and can't wait to wear this look out!

Dress | Heels | Fur Clutch: Thrifted
Ok, so who doesn't love a good maxi dress? They are universally flattering and are the ultimate statement of femininity. Today's look is from GCGme and ironically enough, the dress is called "Tiffany". So, I knew it would be a perfect fit ;) It features a beautiful light brown / taupe color, front pleating and a jeweled waist line. I'm 5'4" and it hit right below the ankle on me and also had a nice flow to it.

I paired the dress with some complimenting nude heels from Go Jane and one of my favorite thrifted clutches. This dress would be great for an evening out or even dressed down for a day out shopping or out to lunch. Just add a faux leather jacket and flats to complete the look!

Dress | Duster | Heels: Local Mall | Clutch
I know that I may be known to experiment with various prints and colors, but recently I have really been loving neutral colors. Mauve, beige's, olive green's, chocolate brown's and blush pink's are actually trending right now and I love it. I recently got a bunch of stuff at Rainbow that was exactly what I was looking for at a fraction of the price. So, I am thinking of maybe doing a look book to show that you can still be on trend and have a happy pocket book ;)

I picked up this particular dress, solely for the color. I have always loved mauve with clothing and makeup. But you don't see it too often. So, when I saw this one I grabbed it immediately! I paired the dress with a light weight duster in a complimenting color, some nude heels and a faux snakeskin clutch that picked up on the color palette.

I absolutely love the way this look came together. Sexy, chic, sophisticated, on a budget -- I'm all here for that!

Today's post is all about that chic chocolate woman that walks into a room and makes a statement! Serving chocolate is an instagram page and brand that I started to uplift and empower brown skin beauties in a society where darker skin is not always celebrated. There was a time that being a fat, black, dark skin woman was the worst thing that you could be...in some peoples' eyes. We have definitely come a long way with beauty standards when it comes to skin color and size but we still have a ways to go. So, until then I am going to continue to rock my chocolate skin with pride and encourage you to do the same!

You can support the movement and make a stylish statement, all at the same time, with our Serving Chocolate statement tees! Quantities are limited and they sell out pretty quickly, so make sure you don't miss out!

P.S. I have more items coming soon to Shop Lace N Leopard, so subscribe to our mailing list to be the first to know everything!
