Who says it’s too cold for crop tops? Lol. Since we are still in transitioning weather, here in Cali, I thought what the heck? I wanted to go for an urban chic look. So with a monochromatic look on the brain, I threw on some black skinnies, striped crop top, nude strappy heels and finished off the look with a Compton snapback. Definitely a fun look for a fun night out. Now if I could only run into Problem…. #comptonsfinest ;) Hehe…

Top: Thrifted | Skinnies: Rainbow | Heels: Red Tag | Clutch: F21
Wine, burgundy, oxblood…whatever you want to call it lol. It’s one of my FAVORITE colors of the Winter/Fall season. If you follow me on Instagram, @lacenleopard, you’ll see a picture I posted of @NadiaAboulsosn rocking an all burgundy fit that I absolutely fell in love with! But, as much as I love the color, I don’t have much of it in my closet. So, when I saw this textured shoulder padded top from the thrift store I snatched it up immediately! And for less than $2 bucks, how could I not? This day I was just going to hang out with a friend, so I kept it simple with dark blue skinnies and black heels. I finished off the look with a gold link chain and my favorite black envelope clutch from F21. Tip: Do you have an oversized top that you love but it’s too long or seems bulky? Tie it up! Tying a large top or skirt can create a better fit and add some fun & shape to your look ;) Xoxo

Much love,

The Weekend.

11.18.2013

Hey ladies! Hope you all had a great weekend as we head back to the grind. As for me, I had a pretty relaxing weekend. I went to church and the movies to see The Best Man Holiday. I absolutely loved the movie! Definitely a tear jerker and full of good comedy. I’m glad I saw it with my BFF cause I was crying like a baby (yes I’m sensitive lol). I would have been totally embarrassed with anyone else lol. The sequel was definitely long overdue and the way it ended, seems like there may be another one coming soon…I sure hope so lol. Anyhoo, for church I ended up wearing a mustard colored pencil skirt from Lane Bryant and a black and gold jaguar print top that I got from DD’s that I thought was too cute. I know that DD’s isn’t the most highly esteemed store lol…but I promise I find some of the cutest pieces there for dirt cheap. You just have to have patience and approach it as you would thrifting. I finished the look off with a black envelope clutch from F21 and low-heel black pumps from Red Tag. I don’t know what it is, but pencil skirts automatically make me feel feminine, sophisticated and chic. A closet staple for sure! What’s a closet staple of yours? And did you get a chance to catch The Best Man?

Much love yall!

Hair Talk.

11.04.2013

Hey boo’s hope you all had a wonderful weekend! As for me, the weekend was great, I got a chance to catch up with some friends over food and drinks and get behind the camera after a long hiatus. Photography and fashion are my babies, but I kind of lost motivation for photography over the past months...so it was good to get back into the swing of things.

Anyhoo, I just wanted to talk a little hair talk with you ladies. I’ve been natural for several years now but I haven’t always taken the greatest care of my hair. In the recent months, I’ve been really trying to dedicate more attention to the health of my hair instead of paying attention just to how it looks. So I have been on Youtube and Google researching and trying out different hairstyles that I haven’t before. I also, cut about 2 inches of dead hair and am trying to take better care of my hairline. This was a bantu knot out that I did, not too long ago, that I got a lot of compliments on. Chile...I was channeling my inner Tracee Ellis Ross right here!!! Lol ;) As my interest increases in this area, I naturally want to get my boo’s thoughts. With that said, what are some of your hair trails and victories? Products and routines that worked for you? And are there any hair guru’s that I should be following? Please share!

Much love,
Tiff
