On Trend.

10.30.2013

Happy Hump day yall! Friday is almost here! And what’s even closer is Halloween. Man…this year is going by so fast. I can’t believe that its already holiday season! You know the rest of the year is going to wiz by lol. So, speaking of seasons, this fall PLAID and/or TARTAN is definitely trending. I wouldn’t say that I ALWAYS follow trends, but I thought this trend was cute and brought back the 90’s vibe I grew up in, so I decided to try it. This day I was hanging out with my BFF @curlynu82. We were going to lunch and shopping so it was a perfect day to be casual, yet a little trendy. I decided to wear an emerald green top (emerald is also trending), black liquid leggings, and jean cut off vest. I finished off the look with a plaid top around my waist, my favorite half tint shades and black combat boots to add a little edge. I promise…this was like my most comfy outfit to date! Lol What are some of your favorite trends this fall?

Much love,
Tiff

Hey Ladies! I hope you had a wonderful weekend as we head back to the hustle this Monday! Well, I  just wanted to create a quick post showing you how you could GET MORE out of YOUR closet! I saw this idea from Crystal of Bold Style Diary and was so inspired that I had to try this myself! So, I took the burnt orange Peplum dress that I wore for my friends wedding and tucked the bottom into some skinny jeans. I thought that it would be all lumpy and obvious but it was actually very seamless and not noticeable at all! This was a great way to take a somewhat dressy ensemble and make it a little more casual. TIP: you could also use this same concept with dresses by turning them into skirts. Put a cute top on top of a maxidress or regular dress. You can even add a skinny belt to add more structure and to pull it all together. Getting creative with your closet and thinking outside the box will not only allow you to get more out of your closet but also put some ease on the wallet $$. Hope this helps boo's!

Much love,
Tiff

Hey boo’s! Hope the week is going well and if it’s not, hang in there its almost FRIDAY! So…without doing it on purpose, it seems like the theme for this week’s posts is black, white and red. I wore this outfit out to Eva Longoria’s restaurant BESO in Hollywood. Very “She-She Foo-Foo” spot as my friend Tyra would say lol. I ordered a lobster quesadilla and they came out with the smallest entrĂ©e I’ve ever seen! I couldn’t do anything but crack up laughing lol. Matter of fact, my whole table started cracking up when they saw my order…so you know I had to include a picture lol. Nonetheless, I had an amazing time with great friends, so what more could a girl ask for? For my night on the town, I decided to mix up some prints with a sheer polka dot top, striped knee-length skirt and added a pop of color with my 3 toned Zara heels. I finished the look off with chunky gold necklaces and a chunky gold bracelet. Tip: When mixing prints I try to stay in the same color family (i.e. black and white) to add some coordination and cohesiveness to the look.  Of course, you don’t have to do this. But, it could be a rule of thumb for those who are traveling outside of their fashion comfort zone ;)

Much love yall,
Tiff

SAME FIT DONE THICK

Same Fit Done Thick Inspired By:  Leigh Anne Pinnock of  Brittish Girl Group Little Mix

Hey lovlies! Hope you all had a FAB weekend as we head back to the grind :) These past couple of weeks have been AMAZING for me. I have attended different fashion shows, met bloggers I LOVE, designers I admire and more. This night I was attending the Style Fashion Week fashion show with friends Tyra and Ebony. I was definitely excited as I had never been to a fashion show this big. Draya from Basketball Wives LA, the Jenner Sisters, Lindsey Lohan and others were all in attendance.

For my night on the town, I decided to wear this Typography Midi Dress from Asos that I absolutely LOVE with three-toned Zara heels and a Vingtage red clutch. This dress was a definite HIT! It fit like a glove and hugged my curves in all the right places. Everyone seemed to love it and gave me a lot of nice compliments ;) I also saw that Leigh Anne Pinnock from the girl group Little Mix had previously wore the dress as well. Hence, another Same Fit Done Thick! I just love that us thick, curvy and plus size women are proving more and more everyday that we should never be counted out!

Much love,
Tiff

My one blurry picture with the bride & groom lol

This past weekend I went to the wedding of one of my good friends, Raymond,  from junior high school. YES junior high school..its amazing when friendships can stand the test of time. You may not talk everyday or see each other all the time, but the love is still there. Congratulations to you and your BEAUTIFUL bride! God bless you both! I promise it seems like I've been going to weddings every other week lol. So if you're anything like me, here are some wedding outfit ideas from Fashion Bomb Daily, or you could draw inspiration from my own ;) I decided to wear a, kind of, salmon colored long sleeve blouse with ruffle detailing, a black and white funky printed pencil skirt and nude strappy heels. I finished the look off with big gold hoops, simple makeup and a black envelope clutch. I really liked the way this look came out..I felt sophisticated and polished but also FUN! A fashion mix that's always cool to have ;)

Much love,
Tiff

Haute Curves LAFW

10.14.2013

Hey lovelies! I hope everything is well with you and you had a great weekend. I actually had an ah-mazing weekend to say the least! This week is LA Fashion week and I had the privilege to attend Elite International’s Haute Curves LAFW 2013 Fashion Show and Charity Event! So, this was my first OFFICIAL plus size fashion show and to say I loved it would be an understatement. The FASHION, flashing lights and great personalities made for an incredible night. There were fashions from Purple Diva Designs, Curvato by Nicci Gilbert (of the 90’s group Brownstone) and Lisel Binx to name a few. I decided to go for a “Run This Town” kind of theme with my outfit. So I showed up in all black with a faux leather peplum top with slight floral print, a black pencil skirt and black cut-out heels. I finished the look off with gold accessories and  a black envelope clutch. I am so happy that I had the opportunity to meet the lovely Chasity of - A Curvy Girl Guide to Style, Marie of - The Curvy Fashionista and Janae of - Curly Kinky, such great and genuine people. I also got a chance to meet, Angela Renee and Jasmine Epperson, designers and the CREATORS of this wonderful event. I had so much fun and met so many great people. I can’t wait for Haute Curves LAFW 2014!

Much love,
Tiff
